About Us

Netherthong Pre-School & Out of School Club is an Ofsted 'Good' provider of childcare for ages 2-7. It is run by a group of Trustees who form and manage our Incorporated Charity Organization (ICO).

About Netherthong Pre-School

We have a long history of providing childcare to pre-school age children in our community. Netherthong Pre-School was established in 1970, originally named Netherthong Playgroup and was held in the Zion Chapel.

The setting then moved to Chapel House within Netherthong Village before moving to a classroom within Netherthong Primary School. We are now located next to the primary school in our own building.

We have been members of the Early Years Alliance (EYA) for many years (formerly known as Preschool Learners Alliance- PLA), a copy of which is displayed on our notice board.

Netherthong Pre-school and Out of School Club has appropriate insurance, the insurance certificate and notice of liability are also displayed within our entrance area along with information on our policies and procedures.

The setting is also subject to inspections by Ofsted. Copies of the latest inspection report can be found online and on the notice board in the entrance to our setting. After our most recent inspection, on 12 th October 2022, we were graded GOOD in all areas of our provision.

Staff support children to gain an understanding of other's feelings and to learn how their behaviour impacts on others. Staff help children to work through any disputes and come up with resolutions, which helps them to problem solve.

Our Aims

Put simply, our aims are:

To provide a happy, safe, and welcoming environment where children learn through the provision of stimulating activities and inspiring resources on their individual journey of discovery.
To work within a framework that ensures equal opportunities for all children and their families.
Netherthong Preschool Outdoor Playing

Partnerships with parents are effective and they are kept well informed about their children's progress and next steps in learning. Staff involve parents in their children's learning and organise family events, such as the recent welly walk.
